Home

We assume that all research is important, and as a conservation area must ensure the different resources and ecosystems found in this territory. But we have deemed necessary to perform a prioritization of research to focus our efforts on some aspects of which we have no information or that we consider relevant for making decisions about where to focus our efforts on the conservation and proper management of natural resources we protect.

Although so far the following issues are high priority for the area support important research to help elucidate other approaches to conservation and natural resource management within the concept of sustainable development or sustainability of development.

Within the priority topics identified in order:

Priority I (Most Important)
  • Population studies that support the design of closed boxes for big game species and lower in the ACLA-P.
  • Studies of abundance and sustainability of the use of forest species by geographic area (Ejm: Cedro Amargo = Pérez Zeledón / Chiricano = Buenos Aires y Coto Brus).
  • Effects of climate change and impacts on biological communities in the cloud forests and moors, that allow us to identify indicators for monitoring.
  • Conservation status of threatened species.
  • Forest fires, causes and socioeconomic and environmental effects.

Priority II

Priority III

  • Urban development and territorial
