The Department of Wildlife Protected Areas of ACLA-P has a role in regional coordination and technical advice on issues related to the management of Protected Areas located in the Conservation Area La Amistad Pacífico, and the execution of Wetlands, Tourism, Systems Geographic Information Natural Heritage and Volunteer State.
Also serves a national liaison with the Office of the Executive Secretariat ASP SINAC and coordination with other national programs, to address technical and implementation of policies and standards developed by the National Areas of Conservation and other state agencies.
At the operational level the DASP provides technical support for development projects in the ASP and develops follow-up and evaluation of annual work plans of protected areas under their responsibility, as well as the formulation of management plans.
